I use hormonal contraception. Can I still take the test?

With the pill, ring, patch, implant or three-monthly injection the test is not meaningful, because these methods suppress your own hormone production. After stopping, allow at least two natural cycles to pass. With a hormonal IUD, such as Mirena, Kyleena or Jaydess, the test works: it acts mainly locally, your ovarian cycle continues. What is often missing is the bleed that determines your cycle day — so tell us about the IUD when you book. With a copper or gold IUD, a condom, or no contraception, the test is possible without restriction. Please never stop anything without speaking to a doctor first.
